AUGUST 22 19 Baked bread and apple crisp. Signe made 2 qt. each of apple butter, juice from our orchard - 152 qt. for her. Finished my crocheted jabot. Nice shower. Virginia Boel gave me "S" hdkf. 19 Cool. Was supt. of S.S. 70 there. Had John Maxwell take pictures of my class of 8 - noisy S.S. with everyone in main [room?]. Downstairs in painting process - girls to E.L. mtg and supper at Earlville in eve. Wrote Hans, Dora, Mr. Sperley. 19 Got breakfast and supper in Plymouth cabin operated by Miles Standish Alden in Ladysmith. Made 7 calls with Hans, 2in [illegible] homes, around Bruce. Quite warm - Rowed on Flambeau river in eve. Band concert, cards to Grace, Emma, Hilda, Frank. 19 59°. Letter from Velma, card from Pauline. Canned 9 qt. peaches and 2 cans conserve. Shortened my pink slip. Finished seams on K's new dress. At 5 to Middleton for Mrs. Utter, Mrs. Muehlmeier and Mrs. Parker. 11 of us surprised (?) McKenzie's for supper and spent eve. Rainy. 19
