AUGUST 24 Big washing, then got 1-1/3 bu. tomatoes from Pauline which Signe canned, getting 20-1/2 qt. Hilda went with her dad to inspect cheese factories and West Union Fair and stay at Ehlers'. Ironing, baking, packing silver, table linen, etc. kept us busy in a.m. Girls and I at 4H Achievement Day at Farley in P.M.. Doris and Rosella had no competition. I rode home with McComb's. After breakfast at Adele's we drove to Marshfield, working in Clark Co. in A.M. We got room at Dickof's and I slept most of P.M. Supper at cafe, then we went to library to read. Card to Elsie. Slept well. Canned 2 qt. tomatoes, made peach cobbler, cleaned some house, moved some house plants, got Sig from Haley's, went to Kaiser's to have Ford fixed, and it was O.K. when I got there! Missed seeing [Grace?]. Packed. Wrote Hans - at [Lemcke's?].
