SEPTEMBER 2 19 Rain all nite. After assembly went thru Ag. Hall - Garden Club exhibit, etc. Varied Ind. Bldg. Saw Jay Whitson. In eve went to play "3 Pals". Charlie and Maude there. 1937. Hans "all in" from strenuous lifting. Girls regular "amazons" and straightened nearly every room then to lake Waubeesa for hr. Supper first meal in dining room. Drove to McFarland in eve and at Alsmo's. 1938. K, Frank and I to Madison in AM. Card from Rita W. at State Fair and from Edna M. Elsie and I to Middleton in PM. Canned 10 qt. tomato juice (K picked and juiced with Elsie's help) and 4 qt. peaches. 19 Leaving Hilda at Ames. K., Frank and I left Ames at 6:20. K drove 105 mi., I 205. Stopped at Warton's at Elgin, Wolf's at Monona, visited with Pearl and [Maxine?] and Violet (Mrs. Geo. Russell), phoned to Lucille Swingle at Prairie du Chien. Home 6:45. Tired 19
