SEPTEMBER 14 1936. Sunny A.M. Huge washing, Hans' mother hanging some before she went to Oelwein with Hans. Baked bread. Tired. At Irmscher Aux. mtg. at Warton's in eve. 1937. Hilda drove, taking H.S. kids in and getting them in P.M. I canned 5 qts. Greening apples, made jelly, baked bread. Slept an hr in P.M. finally getting eyes rested. Frank came home with high temperature. 1938 Signe began attendance at Freshman Week at the University of Wisconsin, driving in in my car. In eve, while she went to a mtg. in Stock Pavilion, I went to missionary mtg. at Trousdale. Had devotions, helped Mrs. K serve, inc. peanut cookies I made. Hilda began working at Hilgers' 94° 1939. Took girls in at 8, called on Emma; canned 2 qt. cider apple butter and of crab apple butter, chili, and 3 of Snow Apples. Sig home at noon. Supper in back yard. To reception for Rev. Lambright and MacKenzies. 19
