6 at 5 to get early breakfast for Hans SEPTEMBER 23 1936. Mrs. Breneman takes my place in Ladies' Aid. Baked cake and rolls. Took Frank to doctor at noon to remove several inches of [illegible]. Our division served 20¢ supper at W.H.M.S. Signe, Kathryn and I at County 4H dance at Center Grove. Home at 10:45. 19 Hot. Canned 9-1/2 qt. of Greenings, damson plums - sauce and juice and jelly, making 76 qt. this mo. Mrs. Graffin and Corinne here in P.M. Mr. Sperley here from 4:30 to 7. I went to McFarland with him. 19 Warmest this month, 81°. Cleaned doors and my room, got grapes from Schmidt's and canned 1 qt. grape applesauce, made jelly. Baked bread. Signe baked cake. Hemmed 2 dish towels. Card from Hans. 19 Velma my only help from 9:30 - 4 as Sig has 10 o'clock class and Kathryn had last freshman entrance exam. Baked bread, cake, made 4 jars grape conserve. Finished my nightie. Telegrams from Hans - he came home from Iowa at 11:20 P.M. 19
