OCTOBER 11 Birthday cards from Velma, Emily H. and potted scarlet sage and snapdragons from Mother Skott. Sunny. Preacher had many beautiful dahlias at church. I taught 3 grammar grade Girls at S.S. Finished reading Adam's "The Adams Family". Birthday card from Sis, Velma, J. Maxwell. Mr. Brandt sowed our rye. Hans went to Monroe for 2 days. Baked bread. Went to H. Ec. Club at [Mortorson's?] [Illegible] Place in Nokoma. Mrs. Ohlberg talked of homemaking in Wales. Welsh refreshments. Trip was 29 miles! Met Mabel Adams. Brot girls home 5:20. 50! Birthday card from Hans yesterday. Ironed, baked oatmeal cookies - 75°. Cut out pajamas for Frank and nightgown for myself from 5 yd. yard-wide Sanforized cotton flannel. Letters from Hans, Emily H., Jo, and Helen, cards from Hilda, Miss Aitchison, Jennie Whitsell. Ironed, mended. Went with Keitha Gunnison to farewell party at her aunt's. 15 there. Knew them all. Bunco. Signe baked me cake. Velma to Waunakee in eve.
