OCTOBER 18 1936. Sunny again. Church and S.S. Wrote to Dora, Beatrice, Mr. Caldwell (at gov't hospital in Sawtelle, Cal) and birthday card to Amanda. 1937. Hans at Univ. for 2 interviews with Prof. Kolb. I ironed for him, canned 1st qt. pears, packed his suitcase, took nap. Lester Graffin helped us set range in kitchen. Signe homesick for Epworth. 1938. Baked graham raisin bread. Canned pt. melon pickle, washed - but it rained and they did not dry and I blew a fuse. Moved radio to sewing room for my College of the Air programs. Took Frank to his Scout meeting. Wrote Hilda and Emily. 1939 Very windy washday. We ironed a bit. I sewed on buttons, etc. Mrs. Emma Du Freeze called about Red Cross mtg. which I cannot attend Friday. Kids to C.E. in eve, also K and Sig to dancing class, 1 of 7 given at Memorial Union. 19
