OCTOBER 20 1936. Ironed and pressed and mended. Called on Mrs. Pinch. Planned to go to Teachers' Training class in Dubuque in eve, but hard rain - With Hans to Broessel's. 1937. Canned 4-1/2 qt. pears; went to Mrs. Gunderson's for $3 insurance money to cover carrying her children to school. Mended, crocheted blue on top of old white sweater. Finished reading "The Seven Who Fled". 1938. K found ice, tho could see no frost, nor its effects. Finished ironing. Walked to Middleton to get my car Signe left yesterday for bumper welding. To Ladies' Aid. In eve to church party - Signe went to study lecture. 1939. Throat and cold some better. Packed my and Hans' suitcases for trip East. Baked layer cake. To Middleton with Hans in P.M. Jay and Mary Alice Whitson came in time for supper. Rainy eve. 19
