OCTOBER 29 Got some peppers from Mrs. Albrecht. Made 3 pt. sandwich spread for children. ([I?] can't eat it). Cut out wool dress for [Lizzie?] Allen from worn out dress of Kathryn's. [illegible]° at noon. 1st state corn husking contest in Wis. Washed last downstairs - girls [illegible] upstairs, put on my storm window. Made Kathryn's pajama top, sewed her [illegible]. Frank and I attended card party at Waubesa school. His score 200, mine 1920. Girls all [illegible] Virginia G. went to Luther League Halloween party. Dressed Chicken, made pumpkin pies and [cake?], put on 2 more storm windows but was too windy for more. Frank screwed in more turn buttons. I made Signe's blue FF suit skirt over other side out. Finished reading "Moving Millions" while children out to E.L. Halloween party. Took a picture of Hudson from near where we stayed. Took Blue Line Tour of Manhattan, saw famous and historic places. Back to Washington about 8. Went to Kirkpatrick's. Grace slowly recovering from sore throat. Tired.
