NOVEMBER 3 1936 Election Day. We voted early. Roosevelt carried everything in 46 states. State offices close. Made mince pies and pimento cheese. We all went to "Church Nite Supper". Dr. Travis there. Listened to radio election returns. 1937. 20° but sunny. I worked on dress - I'm slow; finished Kathryn's gray school skirt. Rev. John Burchall called here, also Mrs. Voges and Mrs. Kampmeier. Letter from Hans, Elsie Steen in Mpls. Card from Dora. Baked bread and beans. 1938. Middleton High teachers at Institute. K and Frank home. I dressed chicken, baked pies, painted Hilda's bed. At Ladies' Aid in P.M. Got more calendar names. At Swodley's for pot luck supper. Got 2 ads. Signe at scholarship banquet. 1939. Frosty on mts. Breakfast at Frostburg, Md. thru corner of Pa. lunch at O.V. Gen Hosp with Helene and supper at Albany, Ind overnite. Stopped at Ft. Necessity. 19
