NOVEMBER 16 Washed and everything dried nicely. Garden Club at Mrs. Reeder's in eve. Whole nation rec'd unemployment cards. Washed; clothes froze for first time. Hung half of them in basement. Wrote Hans. Slept an hour. Mrs. Obrecht and Mrs. [illegible] called for Red Cross membership. Rev. and Mrs. Ernest Barber called; very interesting discussion of propaganda in various parts of world. Nice day. Washed, dried part outdoors. Repainted back steps aluminum, covered rock garden, etc. Painted back door gray. One of 12 women at Procknow's in eve, playing 8 games 500. Big supper at big table. Miss Zilliers and Mrs. Reiels walked home with me. Painted both sets of steps. Baked bread and cake. Went to Mothers' Club at Kelly's. Got $4-1/2 for Red Cross. Finished cross stitch Scottie on pillow case, begun this week.
