NOVEMBER 18 Didn't sleep last half of night. Hans at Postville for first Iowa cheese makers' mtg., which he planned. I was in playlet "All in the Same Boat" at W.H.M.S. at church. Didn't stay for tea. Took girls and Frank, June Kline and Imogene Pinch to basketball game at Earlville. Lost both games, all 3 girls in. 19° in morning, 23° at noon. Ground covered with snow. More fellas [illegible] went in to Madison with the girls. To McFarland for new tire. At Trousdale Ladies' Aid in P.M. Slept 9 hours! Letter from Hans. Painted inside of back door, mended, mopped 3 floors - which tired me. Attended Madison Council of Federated Church women in 1st church in P.M. - Heard Dr. [illegible]. Hilda, Frank and I at Bingo party of Waubesa in eve. I won 5 lb. sugar and green towel. Dressed 2 chickens, took Velma for final glass fitting. Hans home soon after noon. Baked butterhorn rolls, made lemon-cheese-pineapple salad and noodles. Girls cleaned. Sig made cocoanut cookies. Hans and I to Madison in eve - Homecoming Crowd 7-7.
