NOVEMBER 21 1936. Baked 3 fruit cakes, sending one to Carlton's. Frank and Erwin Bradley collected donations all day for them. Hemmed yellow tablecloth, waxed linoleum, painted kitchen floor [illegible]. 1937. For lack of better, I had charge of the women's S.S. class at Trousdale. Mailed letter to Hans. Brant's kids here in P.M. Played carrom. I read some from Zona Gale. 1938. Washed 10 windows inside, also 2 doors. Varnished my dresser and dresser boxes. Made Kathryn's pajama pants. Got and wrote (7) letter. Repotted some plants. Dug last wheelbarow load of carrots. 1939. Did a big washing, hanging most of it inside. Late at my first in series of card parties - at Englebrecht's. Score: 1150 (which she won for me). Told of Dvorak at Spillville at Bel Canto Club at Muehlenbruch's. 19
