1936. Chilly, but hope all Dec. is no worse. Candied a citron. Felt very ambition-less. Hans left after dinner for the week. Made gingerbread, sewed on dress, read "The Dark Frigate". 1937. Washed, hanging most of it in basement. Baked 2 apple pies for Trousdale Ladies' Aid Bazaar and 4 individual ones. Finally got pictures from John Maxwell of my Epworth S.S. class. 1938. Took Signe and Hilda to Madison. Baked 3 apple pies, 2 for Trousdale. Ladies' Aid bazaar. Took them and cooked chicken and fudge and calendars and went in for P.M. and eve. Sold 36 calendars. Wrote Dora. Hilda waited on table. Hans home in eve. 1939. Drizzly. Hans and I to Middleton; turned in last of my $18.75 Red Cross money to Mrs. du Frenhe. Hans and Frank and Velma left at 10 for Buckhorn. Had house to clean up. Wrote Hilda. Crocheted varicolored edge on pillowcase. 19
