DECEMBER 11 1936. Ironed. Zero or below. I took state car to garage (towed in) when Hans took my car to Dyersville. Hans not well so I took milk samples to Dubuque. Shopped. Girls played B.B. at Zwingle. Tired. 19 We washed. Hilda took Frank in for his guitar lesson. Hans home from Oshkosh at 3. We went to McF. Made bread, jelly, salad dressing, Signe cake and cookies. 1938. To S.S. and church - also to pageant at Capitol at 5:30. Many thousands there. Pantomimes, carols and buglers, also chimes on church. Called on Mrs. Lippitt. Finished reading "R.F.D." Wrote Hans. 1939. Took girls in. Made lard. Baked bread. Took meat to [Maulbietsch?] to make sausage. Letter from Elsie. Wrote her. Took Mrs. Zentner and Mrs. Utter to Home Ec. Fair in Home Ec. Bldg. Donated 2 jars strawberry preserves and a coffee bread. Began Christmas decorations in eve. 19
