DECEMBER 16 Sick abed. 19 Very mild. Drove in country with Frank Rupp to get 5 bu. corn. Took Hans to Dr. who treated his sinuses. Had playlet at W.H.M.S. at Edna Maxwell's. Queen Esther's here in eve. 19 Baked bread. Hans home all week with mild flu. Letter from Constance. Wrote Christmas letter to Epworth. Garden Club and "A Christmas Ramble" 19 Sent N.Z. story to C. G. and box to Peek Home at Polo. Hans took me and Mrs. Procknow to Middleton High to Christmas Tea and Style Show for mothers. Then he and Frank went to farm. I finished crocheting chair set, emb. some. Hilda out of school first, for vacation. 19 Made a can of lard, yeast, a peasant apron for Helene and began laundry bag and cut out nightie for Anna. Overcast seams of my new dress. First Christmas card from Edith Whitson, and pkg. - W. Va. ham from Helene. and nuts from Frank. 19
