DECEMBER 17 1936. Hilda out of school all day. I've been weak for so long I had exam. at the Dr's. Table tennis here every eve. 1937. Girls out early for 2 wks. vacation and trimmed Christmas spruce tree. I took Hans' car to McFarland to get his radio fixed and blacksmith's for irons for an extension on the V8 for a "deer-carrier". Hans fixed garage and fruit cellar lights. 1938. Coldest yet, 11°. Kathryn and I were in Madison from 9 to 11:30, shopping. Signe out for 2 weeks. I finished Hilda's pajamas and emb. pillowcases. Hilda baked cake. Frank got box nuts from Frank. Pkg from Helene. Card from Grace K. 1939. S.S., church and carol sing at Community Church. Really got at writing Christmas cards and notes as well send to 13 states, Sask. and Dist. of Col. Wrote to Pauline. 19
