Oskar, Velma and Bonnie Miller here on way home from Cedar Falls. DECEMBER 18 19 Hans up for all day - first for a wk. and went to Dubuque in P.M. I sent Xmas package to August's and first cards. Got grist. School out for 2 weeks. 19 Hans, Frank and I to Madison for his class, 9 o'clock. They left me and I walked a long ways to find them and do more shopping. Baked 3 fruit cakes, fried out 5# lard. Tired. 19 Sold some Trousdale calendars after church. Wrote some Christmas cards and letters, sent 6 to distant states and Canada. Hans and Frank home in time for fresh liver for supper. They brought 1/4 hog and a duck. Wrapping packages begun. 19 Took Signe in for her tonsillectomy at 8:30. K and I shopped a little, then came home and got washing done by 12:30. Ironed and mended some, made lard, got Sig at 4:30. Church comm. at Rabe's in eve. Sent cheese to Dora, jam and [illegible] to Helen. Letter from Barber's.
