50° DECEMBER 26 19 Baked bread. Cut out two blue corduroy snow-suits for Signe and K. Amanda's came about 9 P.M. Rainy. Visited till 11. Frank came with them. 19 Up at 6:00. Hans took us to 8 o'clock train for Chicago via N.W. Got to Wheaton 12:50. Visited all P.M. and evening at Herman's, his trip abroad, etc. They own their big brick house at 815 N. Wheaton Ave. Wood fire in fireplace. Read half of Helen's "Wind on the Mts" by Trygve Gulbranssen, on way down. 19 Snowy. More cards. Perpetual calendar from Dora's. At Procknow's an hour in P.M. Ripped up what I had crocheted on blue rug and began again by Mrs. Cotter's directions. 19 Big bunch of mail. Cards from Ellickson, Anna W., etc. Made cabbage salad for Guild lunch. Sleet made roads slippery. Took Mrs. Kelley and Lois in. 19
