After the preceding Constitution was signed the following resolutions were adapted each being submited to discussion previous to adoption Resolved 1st First that Slavery is a violation of the planest precepts of the Bible and should therefore be immediately [strikethrough]adopted[/strikethrough] abolished 2nd That those ministers of the Gospel who open not their mouths for the Suffering and dumb fail to declare the whole counsel of God 3rd That all those who say they are as much opposed to slavery as any person whilst they do nothing for its overthrow are just such anti Slavery well as those holders like. 4th That no Citizen of this country can support pro Slavery candidates to any office in the government without tending his influence to perpetuate the system of Slavery 5th That the quiet submission of any minister as private member to the recreant disposition of the Church on this subject contributes to the support of the most cruel oppression
