The ship came in right on time and made a perfect landing. The gangplank was lowered and the passengers started coming down. Once they arrived at the landing platform, their baggage was given a quick going over with a search ray and they were allowed to depart. Among the first to come out was Jack Johnson of the E & M Rocket Company. He was introduced to the Princess Bella and together they left in a small air-rocket. Watching them closely was a young earthman. He was quickly okayed by the CUstom inspector & his baggage sent ahead to a well known hotel. He himself, followed Jack Johnson and the Princess. When they left by air-rocket, he followed at a distance in an air-taxi. The taxi driver had refused at first, but a Martian gold coin had changed his mind. The young man in the taxi kept his eyes glued ot the ship ahead. "Wish I had my own ship," he mumered once or twice, "But it would be too well known to operate it close to the ground," he agreed with himself. "Look," said the driver, pointing to the east. "Those ships seem to be heading toward that ship ahead." The driver was right. Two ships coming out of the east were heading straight for the small sir-rocket of the Princess. "They look like space ships to me," stated the earthman to the driver. "You're right mister," answered the driver, "and.........Look, they have no numbers painted on them.........they're---------!" "Keep your eyes on that ship ahead," ordered the Earthman. "Your Princess is in that ship. "And I have no radio aboard to warn them," cried the driver. Behind him, his passenger pulled two heavy guns out of a small package. "Swing over to those ships," he commanded.
