getting into deep watter came near being drowned - Dorland came near strangling - getting into the grasp of the Corp - At night we received a dispatch from memphis stating that a cavalry force was advancing upon us, we of course were on the alert but no force made its appearan and this morning we were relievegt by Co H. A scout went out yesterday and got lost. they came into camp this morning about two oclock - Yesterday we received no mail none having come down the river -
