Saving...
with a squad of about 20 men. About a couple of miles from camp we found an army wagon secreted in the woods - in the afternoon we sent out and brought it in - We still make large halls of mules and Horses - and yesterday and the day before 121 negroes were sent to Memphis - Our regiment is said to be the best one on the line of railroad - Our time is passing away rapidly. We have 27 days after today. We all hope to be mustered out at Keokuk on the first of September -
