& went into camp about 1/2 mile out of town just after dark rained nearly all the afternoon came into camp wet to the skin & so dark we could not see a man ten feet we groped around in the dark & soon found a rail fence & started a fire & pitched our tents it is now 10 oClock & still raining we have one hard tack each & we draw no more in two days
