TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1864. Went with Mrs M to the Legislature. Interesting. Mr. Burke & Judge Pendleton spent the evening with us. Very profitable conversation on solemn themes. WEDNESDAY 10 A day after my own heart. Reading in the Atlantic most of the time. Evidences and Bible some. Attended church with Mr. Burke. THURSDAY 11 Another good day spent mostly reading. Evening Mr. B helped me prepare my list, for letter writing.
