FRIDAY, AUGUST 19, 1864. The kindness of which I wrote before continues. Maj F- has been very sick. Kept my fast today, the first for months. SATURDAY 20 Manda. went riding and returned with a most exquisite bouquet. Longin so much to accomplish more for the soldiers. SUNDAY 21 A strange day in my history. Tended preaching in dining room.
