MONDAY, AUGUST 22, 1864. Some better satisfied with this day though the last of the evening was very trying. At our altar called on God to be our guide & help. TUESDAY 23 Have done more real work today than usual. Visited the State House with Manda, also the grave of Pres Polk. Serenade in evening. WEDNESDAY 24 Busy, happy days. This week passing unusually pleasantly, Blessings fresh ever morning, new every evening.
