MONDAY, OCTOBER 3, 1864. Sad day, but kindly cared for by the ministers of the Ills' Conf: Had to stay all night at Clayton. O! the torture of waiting when Bro may be going. TUESDAY 4 Thank God! Reached home in time to see him die. If I had been too late I never could have borne it. God help us in our great sorrow! Milton a brother to us. WEDNESDAY 5 The dreariest day I ever knew. To think he is not in the world is almost unendurable. B - has not come I hoped to see him
