daylight we start out our Brig in advance and 31" in lead of Brig. Crossed the Oconee near town and struck out east passing the 1" [div army?] going 13 miles, The country here is quite hilly and much poorer than west of M -, Foraging is limited. 26" Started out rather late and passed through a most miserable country, nearly half of it being swamp, We marched 14 miles, reaching Saundersville at 8 at night and camped
