Thank God I never have yet, nor never will, unless ordered to do so. We made a junction with our corps at L. and camped 1 1/2 mls east, having marched 7 miles, L. is a pretty little place of 400 souls and sported a paper at the outbreak of this war, and is the county seat of Jefferson Co. A block of business buildings caught fire by accident and was burned down, We now begin to expect trouble from this out. Bushwhackers continue
