As you object to blank paper below a signature I suppose I must go ahead and corner my name in the last corner of the sheet so here goes - H.Edmunds and family are all well including the youth age some eight or ten weeks - I allow we are favoured with a fair representation from Ashtabula & Crawford Counties, we have now in this town the Butlers, Edmunds, the Seelye family, L. Griswold, Eliad Griswold & Son O.J. Morrison and family, Alonzo Rockwell, & Sam Hill, and yet there is room - A.J. Hall has gone to Pikes Peak and I have obtained from Major Hall several fair promises on that note, he seems always ready when one promise is broken to furnish me with another equally as good, I reckon that will be satisfactory to you, if not please give further orders Tell H. Butler that I think old Crawford has done well this fall for Old Abe as also for the County ticket but we have in this County a larger majority in proportion to our population than they have in Crawford County, with a vote of 2400 in this County we have 800 majority
