Frederick Maryland Oct 18th 1862 I am not well; but attend to Duty. have closed the forenoon Exercises; I only Superintend the Dressing of Stumps to the application of Dressings I usually apply the Dressings Times & Duties are Easy with Me at present. Were I well my Duties would would occupy about 8. hours pr Day 4. in Morning & 4 in the Evening - Marys pencil comes handy to write with as I can Lie down & write with perfect Ease - Via how Near Done Harvesting are the Boys: & how is Racker getting of Her Lameness; how fat are the Hogs &c &c; You May Get Some Stove wood of Carmen Bennett; Benjamine Strait May furnissh wood for you, & May Draw Some to Kingsvill to Mr White So Get more Leather for Boots - Jimmy prefers Straight last & I think it would be better to have His Boots So He can change them & have Uncle Phineas R. Make them
