Sheffield Nov 19th. 1862 Dr Bean: Why did you not write last week? we put off writing as long as possible expecting another letter from you: it will be two weeks tomorrow since we receieved your last; hope you are not sick. I attended the funeral of Mrs Levi Brainard this afternoon, she died of consumption. Norris Gage has got home he is doing very well; Canfield has a discharge and been home three weeks I hear that he does not improve in health I saw Mrs Hardy at the funeral this afternoon she inquired for you and said she had a brother in the 29th a first sergent, the company I do not know. Have you seen Eugene since you have been there. While I was south I settled with O. Baldwin; when I first spoke about it (the note) he said he supposed it was all paid up, I told him that it was not he said if I would let him take the note he would have the boys cast [In margin:-] I wish you could send Delilah Rodgers bill
