Frederick Dec 13th 62 I have Recd 2 Letters from Son J.V. Think it a Verry Prudent Move to Send Documents Designed for Me; to Me Instead of attempting to Solve the Problem; I shall not undertake it at present - The Time May Come Requiring proof &C but untill My position here is changed or I am Relieved I have Little to Do aside from the Discharge of Surgeons Duty at this Post I have been in condition for 2 weeks past; Incompatible with the Kind of News I have been Receiving - I will make out further accts. tomorrow - Give List of Such Names as are particularly anxious for there acct; but any Man that you have been Instructed by Me to call on Need Not be afraid of paying for if They Happen to over pay there is a Remedy & if they do not pay when I come home I shall try & find a Remedy. I may be Released in 2 weeks May be in 2 Days it will Not be Long before Hospital No 3 will close I am Entering for Discharge 5 or 6 pr Day Next Week will Determine the fate of all in this Hospital Either to be Discharged or Returned to ther Regiments - Hope there has Not been any comments from My Family concerning Surgeon General Smiths Note - Think there is much carelessness about Recording of orders at the Governours office. Else why this Blunder - I called his attention to My condition twice but
