Sheffield Jan 5th 1863 Dear Father We recieved your letter Satterday the third. we are all well. I go to school now - Lucy Rogers is our teacher and we have about twenty one scolers I havent caught enny minks yaet but have caught a muskrat and sunk thare has not ben enny slaying yet I hope you can cone home we would be very glad to see you at home agane N Norris is so he can walk around on crutches. the roads have ben veary mudy for some time back. so that Mary could not go to school. I have got fore butchels of wal nuts sucked and have got as mutch more to shuck.
